The collection of vintage racers at the Keeneland Concours d'Elegance in Lexington, Ky. is considered the Best of the Best, so we decided to share the cars in another installment of the "Pick Your Favorite Car" series. This concours take place on the bluegrass lawns beneath towering oak trees at the Keeneland Race Course, one of thoroughbred racing's premier venues. In celebration of the show's 10th anniversary, organizers chose to fill the 17 display classes with past award winning cars from those classes.

The Racing Class really caught our attention, with its 1928 Alfa Romeo and 1990 Porsche-powered March from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum, a 1959 Ferrari 250GT and a 1964 Porsche 904 Carrera. The awesome Mormon Meteor, a land-speed record-breaking 1935 Duesenbrg SJ, was a former Keeneland Best of Show winner and was displayed separately.

Whether you get turned on by the sheer beauty of these cars, their racing heritage, or their mechanical and technical wizardry, having an opportunity to get up close to cars of this caliber and chat with the owners is a real treat. The admission fee of $20 was a bargain, especially with the complimentary parking on Kentucky bluegrass. Proceeds from the show, car tours and social events benefit Kentucky Children's Hospital.

Previous "Pick Your Favorite" posts featured Micro Cars and McLarens.
